Process Group for Therapists-in Training

A 10-Week Therapy Group for Graduate Students
Facilitated by Kelsey Mudge, LMFT

A Space to Be Human While Becoming a Therapist

Therapists-in-training carry a unique emotional load. You’re learning how to sit with clients’ pain while also navigating your own challenges. You likely have a busy schedule that makes it difficult to have a space to breathe.

This weekly process group is designed exclusively for graduate students and practicum trainees who want a space to process and grow.

What Is a Process Group?

A process group is a therapy group where members learn about themselves through interactions with others. Rather than focusing on a specific topic, the group centers on:

  • Your reactions

  • Your emotions

  • Your relational patterns

  • Your experience within the group

  • How these impact your identity as a developing therapist

This Group Helps You:

  • Develop greater self-awareness

  • Understand your emotional reactions and the patterns that show up in your relationships.

  • Increase confidence in managing difficult emotions

  • Receive and give supportive feedback

Who This Group Is For

This group is ideal if you are:

  • A graduate student in counseling, psychology, or social work

  • Feeling overwhelmed or unsure in your clinical development

  • Wanting a space that blends therapy and growth

  • Curious about your emotional patterns and how they show up in the therapy room

Group Format

  • 10-week process group

  • Small group: 5-7 participants

  • Virtual for California and South Carolina residents

  • Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm // Sept 9th- Nov 18th (no group on Nov 11th)

  • Members are encouraged to commit to 10 weeks to maintain cohesion

  • *This group can count towards your personal therapy hours for your graduate program

As someone who works with emerging clinicians, I believe therapists deserve spaces where they can be real and human.
This group offers a place to grow and connect.
